International Workshop on Sustainable & Circular Technologies, November 26-27, 2025, Eindhoven

The ECOLEFINS project proudly participated in the International Workshop on Sustainable & Circular Technologies, held in Eindhoven on November 26-27, 2025. This landmark event, jointly organized by 13 EU-funded projects, brought together leading experts and innovators to explore the future of sustainability and circularity.

Over the course of two dynamic days, the workshop featured:
  • 2 plenary speeches from distinguished thought leaders
  • 3 interactive panel sessions
  • 40 insightful presentations
  • 1 roundtable discussion fostering collaboration and exchange

The event attracted 235 registrations, including 125 onsite and 94 online participants, with more than 15 representatives from the ECOLEFINS consortium actively contributing. The workshop concluded with vibrant discussions, sparking new ideas and research collaborations that will help shape the next generation of sustainable technologies.

ECOLEFINS made a standout impact with a dynamic and influential presence. The project was showcased through a prestigious plenary lecture by Prof. Irvine (USTAN), who highlighted cutting edge advances in CO₂ electrochemical conversion. Our scientific footprint continued with three high level oral presentations from Dr. Konsolakis (TUC), Dr. Kyriakou (RUG), and Dr. Moranti (POLITO), covering breakthrough developments in tandem catalysts for CO₂ activation, next generation high temperature H₂O electrolysis electrodes, and state of the art CFD modelling at both cell and stack scales. Adding to this strong lineup, Mr. Kuffer (FZJ) presented a compelling poster featuring advanced DFT insights into co ionic electrolyte behavior. Crowning the event, project coordinator Prof. Marnellos (CERTH) delivered a forward looking presentation on the ECOLEFINS concept, achievements, and future vision during the Nitrogen and CO₂ capture panel—reinforcing the project’s role as a frontrunner in sustainable innovation.

The event provided a platform for exchanging knowledge and fostering collaboration on advanced materials, circular processes, and innovative pathways for resource efficiency and decarbonisation. Discussions focused on sustainable production systems, CO₂ valorisation routes, and emerging technologies that contribute to climate neutrality and industrial transformation. Through its participation, ECOLEFINS explored potential synergies with complementary initiatives in the field of circular carbon technologies and sustainable materials. The workshop also offered valuable opportunities for networking and strengthening connections with the broader European research community engaged in circular and low-carbon solutions.
